If You Met Yourself, Would You Like YOU?

I attended a seminar recently and they asked a question that really got me thinking about my life. The question was:

If you met yourself, would you like YOU?

My answer to that question was not what I expected! I’ve studied many self-help programs, tried lots of exercises, gathered tools to try and improve myself, but continued to feel stuck and knowing that I had a bigger purpose in life. When I heard this question, a light went off in my head! I really wasn’t aware that I had such a negative impression of myself.

Nothing I had learned so far had made me realize that I was never going to change my life with the type of beliefs I had about myself.

I thought that if I studied and worked to improve myself I would become a better person. All that time, I was just reinforcing my belief that I was an inadequate person.

Trying to change your behavior without discovering where it’s coming from doesn’t seem to work. I now know that I have to change those deep-seated beliefs about myself to see real change.

Now the question you are probably asking is how do you change those beliefs?

In my honest opinion, there really isn’t “ONE” answer?

I know that is not that answer many people are looking for. We all want the easy magic pill that will fix everything but in this case I don’t think there is one. We have been through a lifetime of other people telling us what to believe and a society that punishes people that don’t fall into the norm.

So if everything is working against us, how do we sneak out of this trap and deliberately create beliefs that we want to hold?

First we must figure out what our real beliefs are and this takes looking at our subconscious mind.

Our Subconscious Mind

Subconscious Mind

I found a couple great videos that describe how we look into our subconscious mind and “reprogram” it for no better words.

Marie Forleo did an interview with Dr. Cathy Collautt that does a great job describing one way to change your beliefs. It is definitely worth a watch. Click to see the video here.

Bob Proctor also made a great video about the subconscious mind and how to program it so it is beneficial for you in your life. Click here to watch the video.

If you take the time to learn about your subconscious mind and how to use it to your benefit you will start seeing immediate changes in your life.

I know for me, once I took control of the powerful subconscious mind I began to see results almost instantly and started feeling in control of my life instead of being a prisoner to my own beliefs.

If you have a story about how taking control of you mind has changed your life I would love to hear about it.

Until next time, to your health and happiness.
