The First Job I Was Ever Fired From

YOURE-FIRED

A couple of months ago I was fired from a job for the first time in my entire life. I always thought I was a hard worker and I treated the business like it was my own so how in the world could I ever get fired.

For a while I was taken back by it. I blamed my boss. I blamed other circumstances in my life but I never took responsibility for it. I then started doubting myself. “Am I really not a good worker and am I not productive? Can I not be successful?” These were the thoughts that were running through my head but they weren’t helping me. They were only bringing me more negative thoughts and a negative attitude.

Funny thing is I hadn’t been happy at that job for a while. I knew it was a good job but it wasn’t something that brought me joy and got me excited each day. From all my studying of consciousness and the Law of Attraction and reading a book series called the “Ringing Cedars of Russia” I knew there was more to life but I kept getting myself into these situations where I would just say it’s a stepping stone in life. This is just one step on my path to happiness and having a complete and full life.

But where does this end? Where do the stepping stones end and life begin? Am I going to wait until retirement to be happy and do something that I love? Or am I going to just take another stepping stone along the way of life that will someday lead to happiness and lead me to finally reaching my goals and living a life of financial freedom with total abundance?

I think this leads to a big question: “What is life? Why in today’s society did we create a system where most people work their lives away just to get through life trying not to get too hurt or to have too much pain and make it slowly to death?”

I know there is another way!

A way where everybody is creative. To let go of the competitive mindset and focus on helping ourselves and helping others. This is the way I believe life is supposed to be, waking up with excitement and energy to be productive and to work towards a goal that we want to hold that brings us joy and energy to accomplish that goal.

How do you start living this type of life?

I believe it is coming up with a worthwhile goal! It is being so passionate about something where every morning it’s the first thing you think about and the last thing you think about before you go to bed. It brings you happiness thinking about that goal and working towards that goal.

If everyone took the next 7 days to focus on one goal and just come up with one goal that they have for life I think this could change the entire world because you would start seeing passion in people’s eyes and we would hold ourselves accountable for a goal that brings us happiness.

So my assignment for you and I hold myself accountable for this as well, is that you take the next 7 days to come up with a worthwhile goal for your life. No I’m not saying that this is the only goal for the rest of your life. All I’m saying is that it’s worthwhile to sit down and really write out this goal. You may have to write it out 50 different times because some goals after you write it down you realize it isn’t a real passion. When you really think about it and write it down multiple times you ask yourself, “do I still have the same amount of energy and enthusiasm to reach that goal or is there something else that sparks your interest even more?”

So in 7 days from now ask yourself this question: “What is my goal?” Are you willing to tell other people about this goal or are you afraid that if you tell someone that you will be held accountable for it and it’s not something that you really think you can accomplish or you don’t know how to accomplish it. If that’s the case I would love to work with you and help you reach a worthwhile goal for you!

  1. Wow Sean!

I could totally relate to your article as I was fired after being rear ended in a car accident and was no longer able to do my job as it was defined under my ‘job scope’. I worked in the mail room and I enjoyed it because it gave me a certain amount of freedom to do my job and interact with other employees.
Getting fired was my Popeye moment – ‘where I had all I can stands and I can’t stands no more’ of corporate life.

I would like to ask you a question – how do you feel about network marketing? I know many people that have become millionaires because of the small business concept and they write their own rules. I found this network marketing business that I decided to do. If you could coach me on how to get people to join, you would benefit as well. Here is the information:

This company is rated A+ with the Better Business Bureau and has been established for 16 years.

    • Hi Tanya,

Thank you so much for the comment and for sharing your story.
Sometimes it takes a major event in our life to take that next step and starting doing the things we really enjoy and have the desire to do.

To be honest I have zero experience in network marketing so I apologize, I can’t be of any help on that specifically.

However, when it comes to being successful, I believe it always comes down to the goals we set for ourself and the actions we take.

I believe the best place to start is always creating a worthy goal. What do you want to accomplish this week, month, and year? Really take time to set a goal that excites you and you feel driven to accomplish.

Once you have this goal, write it down on a piece of paper that you carry in your pocket. If you do this, every time you reach into your pocket, it will remind you of your goal that you set and keep you on track.

At this point, think about all the actions you are taking to reach this goal. Are your daily routines in line with reaching this goal? If they are, awesome! If they aren’t, try adding one new action each day to help you reach your goal.

I hope this helps and feel free to email me or leave a comment anytime you have a question.

Also, I absolutely love hearing about your success so I hope to hear from you again in the future about all your success!
