Is Low Confidence Causing Procrastination?

Ways to gain confidence

The Link Between Confidence And Getting Things Done

Does it seem like your to-do list gets longer and longer but hardly anything ever gets checked off of it? Trust me, I’ve been in the same situation before too. For a long time, procrastination seemed to be a normal part of my life.

I didn’t want to put things off, but it seemed to happen anyway. Countless times I told myself that I would do something tomorrow. However, the next day would roll around and somehow, it would end up getting put off once again.

Needless to say, this is extremely counter-productive when it comes to getting important things done.

A lot of people probably think that putting things off until later makes life easier. Believe it or not, it actually makes life much more complicated. Think of it this way, important tasks won’t complete themselves. Therefore, when you put them off until later, you create a backlog for yourself. By the time you come back around to completing something you should have done earlier, you have many more tasks you must complete as well.

When it comes down to it, it’s always better to see things all the way through, no matter how hard it may be.

It’s probably no secret to you that procrastination does not promote productivity. However, have you ever put much thought into what causes a person to procrastinate?

There are many different things that can contribute to a person procrastinating. Contrary to a lot of people’s beliefs, it’s not always laziness.

One common cause that I would like to go over today is a lack of self-belief. A person’s level of confidence and self-belief can influence their life in major ways. High levels of self-confidence lead to positive things happening in life such as completing goals and finishing important tasks. On the other hand, a lack of confidence can influence a person’s life in many negative ways. One of the most common would be achieving very little and procrastinating on important and daily tasks.

How To Feel Confident

So The Question Is, Why Is It So Important To Be Self-Confident?

Our belief in ourselves is essential when it comes to breaking through obstacles and achieving things in our lives. This is true when it comes to the smallest tasks such as everyday responsibilities as well as those long-term goals that we set for ourselves and everything in between.

In order to accomplish something, we need to believe that we are able to do it. It is this belief that gives us the strength we need to keep pushing forward through challenging times. Without our inner-strength, it becomes quite likely that we will withdraw ourselves from a situation as soon as things become complicated.

You’re probably aware of the fact that anything worth doing in life tends to be a bit challenging. This is true when it comes to just about every aspect of life including family, work, friendships, love, personal development as well as anything else that is important.

In order to make life amazing, you need to be willing to step out of your comfort zone from time to time. Understandably, for those with low levels of confidence, this can feel next to impossible.

Luckily, even if you aren’t a confident person, there are things you can do to improve your self-belief which will improve your entire life.

More Self Confidence

How To Be Confident

Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of judgmental people in the world. People are often taught habits throughout their lives that teach them that they need to act a certain way, think the same as the next person and look the same as everyone else.

The problem with this is the fact that we aren’t like everyone else. We are all individuals with different personalities, varying styles and every one of us has a unique set of talents and skills.

Unfortunately, since people are taught by various, different sources such as media, magazines and other people that they need to fit in with everyone else, they begin to lose sight of who they truly are.

Trying to force yourself to be like someone else can be quite damaging to your confidence. The reason for this would be the fact that you are you and they are who they are. You can never be as good at being someone else as they can be at being themselves. This isn’t a bad thing, especially when you consider the fact that we should always be ourselves, whether we are accepted or not.

Stop trying to be like other people and embrace the wonderful person that you are. For some, this may take a lot of practice, especially for those who have pretended to be someone else for a long time.

Increase Confidence Level Using Meditation

How To Build Confidence By Meditating

Aside from being yourself, there are many other things you can do to boost your confidence.

One example would be using meditation to enhance your belief in yourself.

Contrary to the belief of many, meditation is not something that takes years of practice to master. In fact, there are several meditation techniques that require little to no previous meditation experience.

While it may be true that older meditation strategies required tedious practice, immense amounts of self-control and unbelievable patience, times have changed and so has the way meditation is performed.

These days, performing an effective meditation session can be as simple finding a quiet place to listen to an audio meditation. These types of meditations are designed to do most of the work for you and tend to provide amazing results.

  1. The confidence is an inner strength. It has nothing to do with the outer world. All will envy you and pull you down.
